JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted armed robbery of a Hess station employee.

The incident took place on March 18 just before 4 a.m. at the Hess station at 7106 Blanding Boulevard, according to a release from JSO Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley.

A female approached a male Hess employee outside of the store, asking for a flashlight so she could help a friend look for money that was dropped.

Two males then approached the woman and the victim. One of the men yelled at the employee to get on the ground and then struck him in the jaw and the chin with the stock of a rifle.

The female came into the store before the incident and was captured on surveillance video (above).
