SATSUMA, Fla. - A Satsuma man allegedly raiseda large kitchen knife at a deputy during a welfare check.

Deputies responded to South Highway 17 and Kingston Boulevard Thursday night after receiving reports of a man possibly in need of help, according to a Facebook post by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, 50-year-old David Campbell, was allegedly foundlightly clothedwhile there was afreeze warning in place.

When deputies approached Campbell, he initially ignored law enforcement and started to walk away. As deputies approached Campbell, he allegedly said he would shoot if deputies came near him.

Additional deputies arrived on scene and attempted to approach Campbell who pulled out a large kitchen knife and allegedly raised it in a threatening manner.

Deputies tasered Campbell and placed him in handcuffs. Campbell was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon.

Campbell was booked into the Putnam County Jail and received a $5,004 bond.
