JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- A group of teens fromseveral Duval County high schools got a chance to give feedback on the district's blueprint to improve education.
The strategic plan, as it's called, has been presented to parents at community meetings and now students had a chance to share their ideas with Superintendent Nikolai Vitti.
"I really liked overall that he included us," said Kaitlyn Hamby, who attends Stanton College Prep.
Vitti talked about the district's vision to steeraway from teaching to standardized tests to putting more focus oncritical learning skills.
"You are all children that have opportunity to do great and wonderful things if provided the opportunity to do it," said Vitti, who lead the discussion and took questions.
The school board next month is expected to vote on the strategic plan that has been in the works for months.
