Delray Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Former champion Tommy Haas and top seed John Isner moved into the semifinals at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.
The second-seeded former world No. 2 Haas outlasted tough Croat Ivan Dodig 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 6-1 in just over two hours on the hardcourts at Delray Beach Tennis Center. The match featured 11 service breaks, including six by the winner from Germany.
The 2006 Delray Beach titlist Haas will battle Latvian and fellow former champion Ernests Gulbis on Saturday.
The talented Gulbis pulled within one victory of making a second trip into the final here after beating Spanish fellow qualifier Daniel Munoz-De La Nava 6-1, 6-4 in 75 minutes on Day 5.
Isner won a repeat of last year's semifinal by topping sixth-seeded South African Kevin Anderson, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1). Isner is the last American in the event after eight started. Anderson beat Aussie Marinko Matosevic in last year's Delray finale.
Isner's semifinal foe will be Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin. He upended Lithuania's Ricardas Berankis, 6-4, 6-3.
Gulbis was the Delray Beach champ in 2010.
This week's titlist will collect $78,000.
