JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two teens are in custody following a Tuesday drug deal that ended in murder.
Frederick Phillips, 19 and 20-year-old Anthony Bannister allegedly met up with Jameel Burroughs, 19 and De'Jon Frazier, 18 in the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 8808 Beach Blvd Tuesday night to sell marijuana.
During the transaction, Burroughs and Frazier allegedly robbed Phillips and Bannister of their drugs and money, and also allegedly shot Bannister at the same time.
Phillips drove the wounded Bannister to the Kanagroo gas station at 4024 Southside Blvd. where the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded.
Bannister was transported toShands Jacksonville Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
During an investigation, a phone number in the victim's cell phone used in the alleged drug deal was traced back to a pawn transaction by Jameel Burroughs. During interviews with law enforcement Burroughs allegedly admitted shooting Bannister.
Frazier also allegedly admitted to law enforcement the pair planned to rob the victims as well.
Frazier and Burroughs have been charged with murder and armed robbery and are currently being held in the Duval County Jail without bond.
