LARGO, Fla. (WTSP) -- Early Monday morning, Largo Police say a maskedman attacked 68 year old, Donald McKay, a CVS store employee with aknife while high on drugs and alcohol.Police say around midnight, the man -- later identified as23-year-old Lorenzo Guerrero -- walked into the CVS Pharmacy store, at4000 East Bay Drive, and stabbed McKay in an "unprovoked ambush-styleattack" who was working just inside the front door.Lt. Stephen Slaughter of the Largo Police Department says, "The storeclerk is right there seeing him walking in. We believe the knife comesout at that point. You can see the altercation taking place where youcan see knife thrusts are taking place."Guerrero left his car in the parking lot and fled on foot. Officers caught up with him a short time later and arrested him.The employee was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds.Largo Police say a further investigation revealed Guerrero was onadangerous cocktail of cocaine, synthetic drugs, and Four Lokobeverages. He could not provide officers any reason for his actions.Investigators say Guerrero is also a suspect in a burglary attemptoutside the Fairway Convenient Store, in the 1000 block of Belcher Road,which took place just before the attack at CVS.
