Ouch! Melissa McCarthy has been getting glowing reviews for her performance in her new film, Identity Thief, but there's at least one critic who definitely doesn't like it -- and he's hitting way below the belt on a personal level.

The New York Observer's film critic, Rex Reed, skewered both the film (which also stars Jason Bateman) and McCarthy on a personal level -- calling her "tractor-sized," "hippo" and "obese." Harsh words for any actress, especially one as beloved as McCarthy, whose scene-stealing turn in 2011's Bridesmaids earned her an Oscar nomination.

In Identity Thief, McCarthy plays the title role, a Florida con artist who is pursued after Bateman's character, Denver businessman Sandy Patterson, realizes his identity has been stolen.
