WASHINGTON -- The State Department says Secretary of StateHillary Rodham Clinton will return to work Monday, a little over a weekafter she was hospitalized with a blood clot in her head.
Thedepartment on Sunday released a schedule which has Clinton meeting withassistant secretaries Monday morning. The most significant items on heragenda are meetings in Washington on Thursday and Friday with visitingAfghan President Hamid Karzai.
Clinton was admitted to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital on Dec. 30 after doctors discovered the bloodclot while following up on a concussion she suffered earlier inDecember. She was released Wednesday.
Clinton is expected toresign from the State Department soon. President Barack Obama hasnominated Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry to replace her.
