JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The cause of a fire alarm that cut short the last ten minutes of Thursday night's performance of "West Side Story" has been revealed.
Sarah Roy with the Artist Series said Thursday night there was a power surge downtown during the performance.
She said the surge affected multiple downtown buildings, including the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.
The surge triggered the T-U Center's fire alarm and the building was evacuated. Roy said the evacuation happened around the last ten minutes of the performance.
Roy said the five remaining performances of "West Side Story" will go on as planned.
The Artist Series is working with each patron to accommodate them, she said.
