After 92 weeks on the chart, Adele's record-smashing 21 has crept past sales of 10 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The album, which has not fallen off the Billboardchart since its release Feb. 22, 2011, sold 28,000 copies last weekfor a total of 10,020,000. It becomes the 21st album to reach the 10million mark since SoundScan began tabulating data in 1991 and one ofonly eight to do so within a two-year span, according to Billboard.
The others are N Sync's No Strings Attached (43 weeks), Backstreet Boys' Millennium (39), Santana's Supernatural (60 weeks), Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill (66), The Bodyguard soundtrack (72), Creed's Human Clay (93) and Shania Twain's Come On Over (96).
The singer's sophomore album entered Billboard at No. 1 and topped the chart for 24 non-consecutive weeks, a SoundScan record. It spent 80 weeks in the top 10.
Two other albums reached 10 million this year: Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory, released in 2000, and Usher's Confessions, released in 2004.
