JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An Orange Park man's efforts to help his hometown, which was impacted by Hurricane Sandy, continued Monday.

The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library packed up books Monday morning that were left over from its Book Warehouse Sale and donated them to Memorial Elementary School in Union Beach, N.J.

Skot Wilson approached the FJPL about donating the books. He started a Facebook page, Unite for Union Beach, New Jersey, and had set up a trailer in Orange Park to collect itemssuch as washers, dryers, microwaves and furniture.

Wilson took the trailer already containing these "second wave" items and brought it to the FJPL's warehouse on University Boulevard North to pick up the books.

In a release, Wilson said he and FJPL thanked YRC Worldwide for their donation of a truck and some volunteers to help with loading the truck.
