JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Ocean Rescue closed the waters off Jacksonville Beach due to Hurricane Sandy.
The beach itself remains open, meaning people can still be on the sand. They cannot enter the water.
Ocean rescue officials said no one will be allowed to swim in the Atlantic Ocean anywhere in the Jacksonville Beach area.
They did not say how long the closure is expected to last.
