JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former United Nations ambassador John Bolton paid a visit to the First Coast on Monday, Oct. 15, speaking to an audience very interested in theMiddle East and Israel.

Boltonappeared onbehalf of the Mitt Romney campaignto talkabout foreign policy at the Etz Chaim Orthodox Synagogue in Mandarin.

Bolton touched on several issues, including the recent terrorist strike in Libya that claimed the life of United States ambassador Chris Stevens and three others.

Thatattack at the consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 is the subject of congressional hearings.

"It may well be and I hope it is true that our military and our intelligence services are preparing an appropriate response to those assassinations," said Bolton.

"If it is true, it would beabout the only national security secret this administration has kept," said the former UN ambassador.

Bolton is openlycritical ofPresident Obama's foreign policy and its handling of the Middle East.
