Toyota is voluntarily recalling 2.5 million vehicles in the United Statesto apply a fix to the driver's side power window master switch.

USA TODAY reportsthat 7.4 million vehicles are being recalled globally.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. said Wednesday drivers might notice a notchy or sticky feel during operation, which might melt the switch assembly that could lead to smoke or even a fire under some circumstances.

Toyota said the problem may be due to an uneven application of grease during the switch assembly process.
