JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- River City residents were able to "fill 'er up" at January 2009's prices on Thursday.
The Gas Can Man was at the Citgo on Beach Boulevard in St. Nicholas at noon to give a maximum of 15 gallons to the first 100 people at $1.84 a gallon for regular unleaded gas.
The location was announced during The Bill Bennet show on WBOB AM 600 between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
"High gas prices have been one of the main topics of concern that Americans all over the country have experienced and we are using Gas Can Man to promote the idea that with a 'can do' attitude we CAN do better," said Steve Gill, Chairman of Morning In America, Inc, in a release. "We need an all of the above approach to energy policy, because coal, gas, natural gas, biofuels, solar, nuclear, etc., ALL fit in the CAN!"
Afternoon host Cindy Graves and Gas Can Man hosted the event and were on site to help pump gas.
