Born in Nebraska in 1948, Bill Gaylor is the youngest child of Air Forde Col. (ret) Don and Peggy Gaylor. Having grown up around the world, the Gaylor family came to Florida in the 50's when Bill's father was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base. Upon his father's retirement they relocated to Windermere, Fla. where Bill graduated from Winter Garden High School in 1966. After attending Oxford College of Emory University for two years he transferred to the University of South Florida earning his Bachelor of Arts degree. Upon graduation Bill enlisted in the Marines and completed Basic Training at Paris Island, graduating PFC. Next stop was Quantico, Va. for officer training where he earned his commission as a 2nd Lt. In 1971. Trained as a field artillery officer, Bill was sent to Okinawa where he served as an embarkation officer and promoted to the rank of 1st. Lt. at the end of his tour in Okinawa he returned state-side and upon receiving an honorable discharge he joined the private sector.
Leaving the Marine Corp Bill took a position with Diamond Shamrock - Plastics Division and soon transferred to their Canadian operations to handle sales for Diamond Shamrock Alberta Gas, later becoming Novacor. In 1985 having successfully built up the company's Canadian and Western U.S. sales, Bill returned to Florida to be closer to his aging parents who had moved back to Melbourne, Fla. in 1980. At that point Bill decided to to enter the insurance industry serving seniors citizens. He me his future wife, Sheila Fladmark, in 1987. After dating for two and half years, they marred and Sheila joined Bill to help build and expand his insurance business. 23 years later their boutique, Trust Choice, Independent Insurance angency still thrives with Sheila taking over the reins in 2012 as president. Bill and Sheila have four children.
