Johnna McKinnon's experience in business and the military coupled with her history of community service and years of being a mother,has qualified her asschool board candidate, according to McKinnon.
As a fiscal conservative, McKinnon believes that the school board should provide children with the finest education possible without burdening taxpayers for increased revenue. McKinnon says sheis also passionate about preserving First Amendment rights on school property to ensure that our schools continue to be safe places for students to learn, grow and express themselves.
McKinnon's professional career includes working as a Business Leader for General Electric Aviation, and serving 10 years in the Navy during the Gulf War period. As a 19-year Clay County resident, McKinnon has invested in the community by engaging in disaster relief, mission work in Cuba, music ministry, coaching sports, and teaching children's Sunday school.
McKinnonand her husband, retired Chief Petty Officer Scott McKinnon, are the proud parents of three sons who all graduated from Clay County schools. They are active members at First Baptist Church Orange Park.
