BEVERLY BEACH, Fla. -- A boat that capsized near Fort Lauderdale on Sept. 2 and was apparently used to smuggle drugs was found on a sandbar in Flagler County on Sunday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of North A1A around 4:11 p.m., where they found the boat near Beverly Beach Camptown and marijuana bails floating to shore, according to a release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Debra Johnson.

The 30-foot twin-engine boat had no markings. Upon checking with the U.S. Coast Guard, deputies found out the origin of the boat. The Coast Guard initially reported the boat came from Jacksonville, but it was found to have come from Fort Lauderdale. No one was on board.

Deputies retrieved the marijuana and contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission about the boat, according to the release.
