SAN MATEO, Fla. -- A celebration will take place today to commemorate still missing Haleigh Cummings' ninth birthday.
A tree will be planted in Haleigh's honor at Browning Pierce Elementary. Prior to her disappearance, Haleigh attended the school.
The address for the school is 100 Bear Boulevard in San Mateo.
There will also be a balloon release at 2:16 p.m. Haleigh was born at 2:16 a.m. August 17.
Last week, a vigil was held for Haleigh at Annette Sykes', her great grandmother home.
Haleigh has been missing for three and a half years.
Misty Croslin, the now ex-wife of Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, was the last person to have seen Haleigh prior to her disappearance. Croslin claims to have gone to sleep that night and when she awoke, Haleigh was gone.
Both Croslin and Haleigh's father Ronald are currently serving prison time for drug trafficking charges. The two were sentenced in early 2011 after undercover investigators made several illegal prescription drug purchases from them.
Investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office have announced publicly they believe Haleigh is dead, but her family still remains hopeful she will be found alive.
The reward for information leading to Haleigh Cummings' whereabouts is $30,000.
