JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The family of a murdered grandfather is asking the community to break its code of silence.

After nearly a month of no answers, the family of George Davis will start canvassing a Westside neighborhood for information.

George Davis's family along with individuals from M.A.D. D.A.D.S. is going to meet at Woodstock Park at 6:00 p.m. Thursdayand go out into the neighborhood to try and get new information about Davis's murder.

82-year-old George Davis was afather ofeight and also a grandfather. He was found badly beaten in his home on July 19th and was already dead when authorities arrived.

Sgt. Waters with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said there was no forced entry into Davis's home and while investigators have been pouring over clues, so far no arrests have been made.

Family members say Davis was a kind man. He was a retired painter and loved fishing.
