JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A pedestrian has serious, but non life-threatening injuries after being struck Friday by a JSO vehicle.
The crash happened on Moncrief Road. The pedestrian has been taken to Shands Jacksonville for treatment.
At the scene, Detective J.D. Gregory said the pedestrian stepped off of the sidewalk and was struck by the patrol car head-on.
The officer was not responding to any calls and did not have lights or sirens on.
Gregory said they do not know how fast the officer was traveling.
We also do not know the identities of anyone involved.
Any information about the presence of drugs or alcohol in the pedestrian's system was not immediately available.
