JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced at a news conference on Thursday a that body found behind Emerson Inn is the body a local woman who has been missing since May 31.

The body of missing womanTara Gean Hawkins was found by anindividual who was walking his dog near the Emerson Inn on Phillips Highway on June 10.

Hawkins was reported missing after she failed to return home from work at Emperors on University Boulevard. Ten days later, JSO responded to a body found near the Emerson Inn on Phillips Highway, only two-and-a-half miles from where Hawkins was last seen.

It was believed Hawkins may have been riding a blue-green cruiser type bicycle when she disappeared.
