INTERLACHEN, Fla. -- Major Crimes Unit detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Interlachen Police Department are investigating the Friday morning shooting of two people.
On Friday morning, police found 20-year-old Quinton Mann at a residence on Sherman Driver Circle with three gunshot wounds, according to a news release from Putnam County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Lieutenant Johnny Greenwood.
Mann was shottwice in the upper chest and once in the abdomen, Greenwood said.Mann was taken to Shands Gainesville in serious condition.
Greenwood said police then found a second victim nearly a block away from the home.Jessica Martinez, 29, was taken by rescue personnel to Shands Gainesville in stable condition.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a call a short time later from a man claiming to be Daniel Martinez, Jessica Martinez's brother.
Daniel told police Mann and his sister had been in an argument whenMann pulled out a handgun and shot it towards his sister.
Greenwood said Daniel then said he pulled out a handgun and shot at Mann to defend his sister. During the call, Daniel was parked at the Interlachen Police Department waiting for a law enforcement officer.
Daniel Martinez, 30, was taken to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office to be interviewed by detectives in their Major Crimes Unit.
The investigation, Greenwood said, is in its early stages and that further information would be released as it becomes available. No arrests have been made yet.
