JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Saturday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a local prescription drug take back event.

Any member of the community can bring unused medications and prescriptions so they may be disposed of properly.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The public can drop off unused medications and prescriptions at two different locations:

  • Publix Super Market #589 located at 9100 Merrill Rd.
  • Publix Super Market #1066 located at 10500 San Jose Blvd.

Prescription and over the counter medications will be accepted. No sharps, biohazards, aerosols or batteries will be accepted.
