JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The City Council's Rules and Finance Committees will meet today to discuss Mayor Alvin Brown's proposed Downtown Incentives Authority.

According to the city's website, the meeting will be held at City Hall at 2:00 this afternoon.

The plan is not expected to go before the full City Council for at least two weeks while it is being reviewed in committees, according to our news partner, The Florida Times-Union.

They report council members have some concerns about how much power the Authority would have.
