JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Saturday morning the Gate River Run will impact traffic.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office put out a news release to help race participants, spectators and people traveling to downtown Jacksonville navigate the detours and road closures.
For pre-race parking, head to EverBank stadium and the nearby garages. Tailgater's, located on the East side of EverBank Field, will also offer parking. River Run participants should plan to arrive at the sports complex by 7 a.m. Saturday.
Friday afternoonportions of Gator Bowl Boulevard will be closed to trafficto set upfor the race. The road closure will be from the West to East entrances of EverBank. This section of Gator Bowl Boulevard will be closed until after the River Run.
On Saturday the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office will be using a "hold and release" or "rolling closure" traffic pattern. This means traffic will be allowed to pass through as the race permits.
Ocean Street between Bay Street and Beaver Street will be closed to road traffic Saturday from 8:20 a.m. until 9 a.m. The road closure extends east, from Ocean Street past the EverBank.
The Sheriff's Office said all roads from the Main Street Bridge East to EverBank and North to Beaver Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for about 40 minutes.
In addition to the road closures, the Main Street Bridge will be closed Saturday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
The Hart Bridge will have its Southbound side closed Saturday morning from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The Mathews Bridge will be open in both directions to accommodate River Run traffic.
