JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The mission is to deliver nutritious, freshly cooked meals to home bound beaches residents who are unable to provide for themselves. Three days a week, the volunteers at Beaches Community Kitchen do just that.

One of the BCK volunteers who has been carrying out the organization's mission is 90-year-old Betty Bush.

Bush has been volunteering with Beaches Community Kitchen for more than 20 years.

Every Monday morning you'll find Bush inside the kitchen at Beach United Methodist Church, preparing sandwiches for the elderly who can't provide for themselves.

Mary Jane Brown, President of Beaches Community Kitchen says Bush is the heart and soul of the BCK.

Bush inspires the volunteers and she's only missed one day in the two plus decades of volunteering with BCK.

Bush says giving back is her life's purpose, she loves doing it and she's glad she can.

Bush says if she couldn't volunteer with Beach Community Kitchen she just grow old and die.
