Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

¼ cup onions, chopped

¼ cup green peppers, chopped

1 tablespoon garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 cup spicy BBQ sauce

2 tablespoons maple syrup

4 slices of cheddar cheese

4 hamburger buns

Method

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onions, green peppers and garlic; drain off the liquids.

Stir in the onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, mustard, BBQ sauce and maple syrup; mix thoroughly.

Reduce the heat and simmer for 20- 25 minutes. Season the sloppy Joes mixture to taste with the salt and black pepper.

To serve place some of the mixture onto a hamburger bun and top with a slice of the cheddar cheese.
