Slew of Ospreys Named All-Atlantic Sun Conference

The University of North Florida' Corey Bass and Tyler Marincov were both named First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, May 21, while Joe Wielbruda, Kyle Brooks, Donnie Dewees and Michael Renner were all named to the Second Team. Corbin Olmstead joined Dewees and Brooks on the A-Sun All-Freshman team. Olmstead and Dewees were both unanimous selections to the All-Freshman team. In addition, Renner and Evan Incinelli were both named to the 2013 Atlantic Sun Baseball Academic All-Conference team.

Ospreys Head to DeLand for A-Sun Tournament

The University of North Florida is set to make its second appearance in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The tournament begins on Wednesday and the Ospreys, the No. 3 seed, will take on the sixth seeded Lipscomb Bisons in the first round. The Ospreys and Bisons will take the field in the fourth game of the tournament set to begin at 8:15 p.m. at Melching Field in DeLand, Fla.

Osprey Basketball Adds ULM Transfer

University of North Florida head basketball coach Matthew Driscoll announced the signing of Louisiana-Monroe transfer Trent Mackey to a national grant-in-aid to play for the Ospreys. A 6-4 guard from Tampa, Fla., Mackey will sit out the 2013-14 season to fulfill NCAA transfer requirements and be eligible to play for the Ospreys in 2014-15 as a junior.

The University of North Florida baseball team took its first lead of the ballgame in the top of the ninth, but saw USC Upstate rally in the bottom of the inning for a 4-3 victory at Harley Park in Spartanburg, S.C. on the final day of the 2013 regular season. The Ospreys (38-17, 18-9 Atlantic Sun), who claimed the series with the Spartans (26-28, 9-18 A-Sun), will now head to the A-Sun Tournament in DeLand, Fla., beginning on Wednesday, May 22.
