Changes Made Again to A-Sun Baseball Championship Schedule

The Florida Gulf Coast and Lipscomb game at the 2013 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship has been suspended in the bottom of the second inning until Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. The East Tennessee State vs. Mercer game will follow at noon; while North Florida and Kennesaw State will square off at 3:15 p.m. USC Upstate will await the loser of the Bears/Buccaneers in the 6:30 p.m. slot.

Buerchner, Nemcsek Into Round of 16 at NCAA Doubles Championships

Senior Moritz Buerchner and sophomore Norbert Nemcsek rolled into the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Doubles Championship on Thursday, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Chip Cox and Tsvetan Mihov of South Carolina.

The University of North Florida baseball team earned a 6-1 victory over Lipscomb in its opening round game of the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The Ospreys (39-17) used a complete game performance by senior Kyle Westwood on the mound to advance over the Bisons (24-33).

Slew of Ospreys Named All-Atlantic Sun Conference

The University of North Florida' Corey Bass and Tyler Marincov were both named First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, May 21, while Joe Wielbruda, Kyle Brooks, Donnie Dewees and Michael Renner were all named to the Second Team. Corbin Olmstead joined Dewees and Brooks on the A-Sun All-Freshman team. Olmstead and Dewees were both unanimous selections to the All-Freshman team. In addition, Renner and Evan Incinelli were both named to the 2013 Atlantic Sun Baseball Academic All-Conference team.

Ospreys Head to DeLand for A-Sun Tournament

The University of North Florida is set to make its second appearance in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The tournament begins on Wednesday and the Ospreys, the No. 3 seed, will take on the sixth seeded Lipscomb Bisons in the first round. The Ospreys and Bisons will take the field in the fourth game of the tournament set to begin at 8:15 p.m. at Melching Field in DeLand, Fla.

Osprey Basketball Adds ULM Transfer

University of North Florida head basketball coach Matthew Driscoll announced the signing of Louisiana-Monroe transfer Trent Mackey to a national grant-in-aid to play for the Ospreys. A 6-4 guard from Tampa, Fla., Mackey will sit out the 2013-14 season to fulfill NCAA transfer requirements and be eligible to play for the Ospreys in 2014-15 as a junior.

Emons Named to 2013 A-Sun All-Academic Team

Senior Meggie Emons of the University of North Florida track and field team has been named to the Atlantic Sun Women's Track and Field Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the conference on Monday.
