JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Most college football players dream of playing in the NFL, not the Arena Football League. After a brief opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings, JU's all-time leading receiver Josh Philpart has found a home with the Jacksonville Sharks. Now he hopes to make a good impression in the AFL so he can get another shot in the NFL.
Philpart had a stellar career with the JU Dolphins. In four seasons, he caught 188 balls for 2,831 yards, and 35 touchdowns.
Josh signed with the Sharks in early June. Since then, he has played in four games for the team. During those games, he has a combined 14 receptions for 137 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Philpart and the Sharks host the Georgia Force in the first round of the Arena Football League playoffs on Saturday, July 28th at 7:00 p.m.
