JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sharks hosted the New Orleans VooDoo for a preseason scrimmage on Saturday afternoon. The VooDoo defeated the Sharks 49-28.
Former Gator Chris Leak played the entire game at quarterback. He is competing with Omar Jacobs, the Sharks' backup quarterback last season, for the starting spot. Jacobs did not play because of a minor injury.
Leak finished the day with 2 touchdown passes.
The regular season for the Sharks begins on Friday, March 16th when they visit Kansas City. The first home game of the regular season will be on Saturday, March 24th against the Georgia Force.
Before the game, fans were encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to Second Harvest North Florida. More than 10,000 pounds of food was collected.
