JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Despite have a long-standing verbal commitment to the University of Miami, First Coast High School linebacker Reggie Northrup had a change of heart and decided to sign a letter of intent with Florida State on Wednesday morning.
Northrup was a big part of the Buccaneers defense this season. He helped First Coast advance to the Class 7A State Title game.
Reggie was dressed in a suit and slowly unbuttoned his shirt to unveil a Seminoles t-shirt underneath. He had hats from Clemson, North Carolina, and Arkansas on the table in front of him. He will join former high school teammates Derrick Mitchell and Eric Beverly in Tallahassee. They both signed with FSU last year and redshirted this past season.
