Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Marian Hossa scored the winner 1:41 into
overtime as Chicago stayed perfect with a 3-2 victory over Dallas on Thursday.
In the extra session, Hossa sent a pass from the right boards over to the left
circle for Patrick Kane, who then sent it back over to the right with a
turnaround backhand pass and Hossa one-timed it in for the win.
Patrick Sharp had a goal and two assists while Jonathan Toews also lit the
lamp for the Blackhawks, who are off to their best start since beginning the
1972-73 season with four straight wins. Corey Crawford made 21 stops in the
victory.
Loui Eriksson and Ray Whitney each lit the lamp for the Stars, who had won two
of three on the season coming in. Kari Lehtonen gave up all three goals on 41
shots.
During the game, the Stars announced that they have signed center Jamie Benn
to a five-year contract worth $26.25 million.
