New York, NY (Sports Network) - The NHL announced Thursday the cancellation of
the remainder of the 2012 preseason schedule.
The league had already wiped out preseason games through Sept. 30 due to the
absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The owners locked out the players when the previous CBA expired at 11:59 p.m.
(ET) on Sept. 15.
The NHL and its players' union are scheduled to resume bargaining Friday for
the first time since the lockout began.
