Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts added another piece
to a revamped defensive line on Tuesday, agreeing to terms on a contract with
free agent tackle Aubrayo Franklin.
A 10-year veteran, Franklin spent last season with the San Diego Chargers and
recorded 20 tackles while starting nine of 12 games at nose tackle. He also
made nine starts the previous year while then a member of the New Orleans
Saints, registering 17 tackles as a rotational run-stopper.
Franklin's most productive seasons came with the San Francisco 49ers, where
the 32-year-old averaged 37 tackles and totaled three sacks while earning 50
starts over a four-year span from 2007-10.
The 315-pound Franklin joins an Indianapolis defensive line corps that brought
in another ex-49er, Ricky Jean-Francois, via free agency earlier this
offseason.
