(Sports Network) - The Clippers turned into a threat on the basketball floor
last season thanks in large part to the acquisition of superstar point guard
Chris Paul.
That doesn't mean mercurial owner Donald Sterling has cleaned up things in his
front office, however. Originally general manger Neil Olshey agreed in
principle to a new contract with the Clips before he made an about face and
fled to Portland.
With the draft set for Thursday the Clippers still haven't named Olshey's
replacement with Tony DiLeo, the vice president of basketball operations for
the Philadelphia 76ers, among the latest to have spoken with team president
Andy Roeser about the gig.
Kiki Vandeweghe, David Griffin, Mark Warkentien, Jeff Weltman, John Nash,
Scott Perry and Gary Sacks are also reportedly in the mix.
Since the Clippers don't have a choice until the 53rd overall selection, they
seem in no hurry to ink a new architect.
