(Sports Network) - The world champion Miami Heat figure to look to the free
agency market in order to improve things in 2012-13.
Veterans at the end of their careers, searching for a ring will always find
South Beach as a desirable option as long as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and
Chris Bosh are on the scene.
The Heat will be targeting nearly every aging prominent free agent this
offseason using their mid-level exception with names like Ray Allen, Chris
Kaman, Grant Hill and Andre Miller on the radar.
As far as the draft is concerned Miami could obviously use an upgrade at
center and point guard but it's got to be the best player available philosophy
when picking at No. 27.
Syracuse center Fab Melo has been dropping in recent days and at 7-foot and
260 pounds could offer the kind of space eater inside that the Heat currently
lack.
