Jaguars Roster Moves: Ash promoted to main roster, Jacksonville native Nix signed to practice squad

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jaguars made a pair of roster moves in light of losing nose tackle Roy Miller for the season.

The team promoted nose tackle Richard Ash to the active roster and signed Jacksonville native, defensive tackle Louis Nix, to the practice squad.

Ash was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan last offseason and spent the majority of last season on the practice squad. He was called up to the active roster for the Jaguars' season finale against the Houston Texans.

Ash spent this offseason with the Jaguars but was let go during final cuts. He has been on the practice squad since Week 1.

Nix was a third round pick of the Texans in 2014. He played high school football at William M. Raines High and spent his college career at Notre Dame.

Nix lasted one season in Houston before spending time with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. Nix has appeared in four regular season games.
