JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- ROAR Cheerleaders coming to your seat during a Jaguars game? It could be a possibility in the future.
The NFL is kicking off a new program in three cities, Seattle, Tampa, and Atlanta. Although the program is likely to catch on in other stadiums, don't expect to see the ROAR in the stands at EverBank just yet.
According to Sports Business Journal, a new app launched in partnership with the NFL will let fans upgrade seats, get on the field before the game, or get a visit from a cheerleader in his or her seat. Teams will pay to use the technology but the more teams that use it, the lower the cost.
The NFL is trying to get more people into the stands, fighting the in home entertainment systems. The NFL also created a perk plan for season-ticket-holders. The Falcons tried the program out last season. 3,000 season-ticket-holders got to use the technology and about 800 people did per game.
The Sports Business Journal says the club plans to expand the program to all 16,000 season-ticket-holder accounts this upcoming season.
