JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Thursday, Stacey Poole, Jr. ended all of the suspense announcing on First Coast News that he'll play ball at the University of Kentucky next fall.
Poole, Jr. had narrowed down his choices to Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, Indiana, and Clemson, but decided to head north to Lexington, Kentucky and play for John Calipari and the Wildcats.
Many thought Poole, Jr. would follow in his father's footsteps and go to Florida.
However, the prep star told First Coast News Sports Anchor Chris Porter he wanted to do his own thing and play for the Wildcats.
Poole, Jr. says he believes playing at Kentucky will give him the best shot at winning a national title, and he couldn't turn down the opportunity to play for Calipari.
Poole, Jr. joins a Kentucky recruiting class some are saying is one of the best in the country.
