JACKSONVILLE, FL -- We're trying something new and interactive here on Good Morning Jacksonville during the NFL season.
We're calling it the GMJ Click Pick of the Week.
Our anchors will be picking the winners to four football games each week. Those games will include the Jaguars, Dolphins, Buccaneers, and a fourth game picked by you.
The fourth game is the Click Pick of the Week.
Viewers will look at a list of matchups and vote for the game they want. Whichever game has the most votes will be the click-pick for the week.
We'll have the win/loss records of our anchors every Monday morning on Good Morning Jacksonville and a new list of Click Picks on Tuesday, with Dan's help.
And every Friday our anchors will make their picks for the week.
Week 17:
Update: Phil takes the title. Dan tried to play catchup but Tampa's luck against New Orleans in week 16 didn't carry over to week 17. And the Dolphins collapsed late in the game against the Steelers, a game Dan needed to win to tie with Phil.
It's the last week of the regular season and seven teams including the Jacksonville Jaguars are fighting for two playoff spots. Bubble teams will be the focus of this week's vote.
Phil has a two game lead in the standings with a 37-22 record. But the rest of the pack gained a game on the division leader by going 2-2 during Week 16. Phil went 1-3 for the week.
Week 16:
Jacksonville travels to New England in the quest to stay in the playoff race. Miami hosts Houston and Tampa goes to New Orleans. The Saints had its quest for perfection taken offline Saturday night in a loss to the Cowboys.
Dan, Michelle and Joy are taking New England, Miami, New Orleans and Pittsburgh. Phil is taking Jacksonville, Houston, New Orleans and Baltimore. Phil has a wide lead over the rest of the pack.
Week 15:
The last time the Indianapolis Colts started 13-0, the Colts lost the next game. The 13-0 Colts visit Jacksonville Thursday night and what a present it would be to local fans for the Jaguars to upset the Colts' quest for perfection. Dan and Michelle are picking the Jaguars. Phil is playing it safe by going with the Colts.
Week 14:
There are major changes at the top of the standings. Michelle moved into second place with a 4-0 week. Dan, fell into third place after going 1-3 during Week 13. Phil is in first place by two games. Joy is in last place, but not by much. Dan is one game ahead of Joy. It's a very interesting scenario since one week ago Dan said Joy was in the outhouse for her picks.
Week 13:
An I-D-1O-T error at the commissioner's office cleared up some controversy in the Week 12 picks. Phil, along with Michelle, picked the New Orleans Saints over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. So he remains in first place with 1 win ahead of Dan.
Joy is still fuming over Dan's "outhouse" comment. Figuratively speaking, both are sharing the seat this week after going 2-2.
Phil is 30-14. Dan is 29-15. Joy and Michelle remain tied at 27-17.
Week 13 matchups has some classics. Denver goes to Kansas City where anything can happen, and anything usually does down to the final seconds. Oakland travels to Pittsburgh. Dallas and the New York Giants hook up in the Meadowlands. And it should be a track race between Minnesota and Arizona.
Week 12:
The women of Good Morning Jacksonville went 4-0 in Week 11 as the guy-gal thing kicked up a notch Monday morning.
Phil still leads at 28-12; Dan is in second place with a 27-13 record; Joy and Michelle are tied for third at 25-15.
Week 11:
Miami played Thursday night against Carolina. Phil and Dan took Carolina. Michelle and Joy picked Miami. Girls: 1-0. Guys: 0-1.
The theme for this week will be first vs. the worst. Division leaders Dallas, Arizona, and Cincinnati take on division dwellers Washington, St. Louis and Oakland respectively. The fourth game to make the list is Seattle at Minnesota. Minnesota leads its division. Seattle, at 3-6, is second to last in its division, just ahead of St. Louis. So, close enough.
Recapping week 10, Phil took the Jaguars over the Jets and the move paid off. Phil was the only one who picked the Jaguars, and in doing so, he shook Dan from the top of the standings. Phil went 3-0 in week 10 to push his league leading record to 25-11. Dan is in second place with a 24-12 record. Michelle and Joy continue to slug it out for last place with 21-15 records, though both went 2-1 in week 10.
Week 10:
The theme for week 10 is the Good, Bad, and the Ugly. The NFL's unbeaten take on the NFL elite as well as the basement dwellers. The ugly game is the one between two of the worst teams in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland.
Joy had a bad week last week, going 2-2. Going .500 isn't too bad on most occasions, except that everyone else went 3-1.
Dan and Phil remain tied for first place with 22-11 records. Joy and Michelle remain tied for last place with 19-14 records.
Week 9:
Prime Time is the focus of this week's matchups. We have the two evening football games. Dallas and Philadelphia square off on Sunday Night Football on NBC. Denver and Pittsburgh meet in a Monday Night Football classic on ESPN. The other two matchups are the NFLs only undefeated teams, the Saints and the Colts.
Phil and Dan remain at the top of the standings with 19-10 records. Joy is in second with a 17-12 record. Michelle dropped to last place after going 0-3 in week 8. She is 16-13 on the season.
Week 8:
Michelle won week 7, going 3-0. Phil fell out of sole possession of first place with a 1-2 week. The vacationing anchor didn't turn in his picks, so Michelle and Joy flipped a coin Friday to get Phil's picks.
Phil and Dan are tied for first place with 18-8 records. Michelle is moving up. She is 16-10 on the season. Joy is 15-11 heading into Week 8.
Week 7:
Phil has overtaken "Leader Dan" in the standings, thanks to Denver's win at San Diego Monday night.
Everyone but Dan went 3-0 for the week. Phil is 17-6. Dan is 16-7. Joy and Michelle remain tied at 13-10.
The matchups for Week 7 are listed in the online poll. Vote now until Thursday night. The anchors will make their picks on Good Morning Jacksonville Friday morning.
Week 6:
The matchups for Week 6 are in. Vote now until Friday morning. The theme this week is the 50th anniversary for the eight teams that played in the American Football League. Six of the teams face off this Sunday. The Pittsburgh and Cleveland franchises have been around for a long time, too, so that game made the list.
The Jaguars host the winless St. Louis Rams. Tampa Bay hosts the Carolina Panthers.
In week 5, Phil got what he needed to keep pace with Dan in the standings, but Michelle, who had an 0-4 start, won the week.
Miami's last second win over the New York Jets gave Michelle a 3-1 record for the week. Dan and Phil had a 2-2 week. Joy didn't have a week to jump for joy over, as she finished 1-3.
Dan and Phil lead the standings with 14-6 records. Michelle pulled into a tie with Joy. Both are 10-10 on the season.
Week 5:
Everyone (almost-see below) went with Buffalo over Miami except for the Bills. Miami crushed Buffalo 38-10 and that left most of our anchors with 3-1 records in Week 4. Unfortunately, Michelle took Green Bay over Minnesota. Not smart, but she's anti Brett Favre for some reason. So, she went 2-2 for the week. At least it's better than the oh-fer start in Week 1.
But the shocker came Tuesday morning on Good Morning Jacksonville. Leader Dan came clean about his picks, the ones he supposedly didn't turn in. Apparently he wrote about his picks in his blog [click here to read Hey Dan]. Unlike the fate of the coin flip, he didn't go with the Jaguars. He also picked Miami over Buffalo and Green Bay over Minnesota on Monday night So, he went 2-2 for the week.
Leader Dan and Phil are now tied at the top of the standings with 12-4 records. Joy is at 9-7. Michelle is 7-9.
Week 4:
Dan Hicken hasn't turned in his picks so Michelle and Phil will help make them for him, courtesy of a coin flip. The coin landed Leader Dan's way last week when fate chose Denver over Oakland. Joy turned in her picks early, so no whining this week. Last week, she had to take Oakland because of the coin flip. This week, everyone has the Jaguars, Bills and Redskins. Only Michelle took Green Bay over Minnesota in the GMJ Click Pick of the Week. She has something against Brett Favre. Results will be Tuesday this week because the Packers-Vikings game is on Monday night.
Dan is 10-2 heading into Week 4. Phil is 9-3. Joy is 6-6 and Michelle is 5-7.
Week 3:
Everyone picked the Houston Texans over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but MoJo ran wild to lift the Big Cats over the Texans, 31-24. Michelle went with Tampa Bay who didn't show up or score against the New York Giants. And Joy, thanks to the fate of a coin flip, went with the Oakland Raiders who went down to the Denver Broncos. One more note: The Detroit Lions won.
Week 2:
A lot of "sameness" in this week's picks. Joy, Michelle and Phil all went with the Jaguars, Bills and Colts, as well as the Broncos in the Click Pick of the Week game. Dan shook it up a bit, taking the Cardinals, Bills, Colts, and Browns. Back to the theme of "sameness," everyone went 3-1 this week after the Colts defeated the Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
For the season, Dan is 7-1, Phil is 6-2, Joy is 4-4, and Michelle is 3-5. It's still early, folks. We have 15 weeks to go.
Week 1:
Dan called it on the show last Friday. He said the Florida teams would be swept. The Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Dolphins all lost. And he picked Minnesota over Cleveland in the GMJ Click Pick of the Week. The Vikings, with Brett Favre, beat Cleveland.
Dan went 4-0 in week 1. Phil is 3-1. Joy went 1-3. Michelle says she's going to bounce back next week after going 0-4.
