JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The most famous left-handed professional golfer paired up with the most famous left-handed college quarterback on Wednesday morning for a round of golf at an undisclosed local golf course.
Phil Mickelson likes to spend the majority of his Wednesdays before a tournament at a course off-site. He and Tim Tebow got together for 18 holes at a local course this morning.
The First Coast News cameras were not allowed to shoot any footage of Mickelson in action, but we did get plenty of video of the Gators quarterback swinging the clubs on the driving range.
Click on the video link within this story to watch Tebow on the range and to hear his perspective on the game of golf.
You can see more of the Tebow interview tonight on our 30-minute special, "Sports Final: Live at The Players." This show will air on digital channel 12.2, Comcast channel 200, and here on firstcoastnews.com, where you'll also have the opportunity to chat live with Dan Hicken during the commercial breaks.
On another note, Tebow will take part in the upcoming "Night of Champions" event this Friday, May 8th, at 7 p.m. inside the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel will be there, as will ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
The theme of Friday night's event is "Building a Legacy Worth Leaving," and there will be special testimonies from Tim's father Bob and Danny's father Jon.
Tickets for the "Night of Champions" are $15 and are available on ticketmaster.com or by calling (904) 353-3309. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event will run from 7 - 9:30 p.m.
