Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) - Steve Addazio has been named the new
head football coach at Boston College.
The 53-year-old Addazio heads to the Heights after just two seasons as
Temple's head coach, during which he compiled a 13-11 record with one bowl
berth. He fills the slot vacated by Frank Spaziani, who was fired on Nov. 25.
"Steve Addazio brings three critical traits to Boston College football,"
director of athletics Brad Bates said on Tuesday. "First, he genuinely cares
about his students and will facilitate their formation and development in
meaningful ways that creates a family culture extending into the entire BC
community. Second, he has a passion that is contagious and an energy that will
motivate those fortunate to meet him. Finally, he is a proven winner with an
extensive history of success as an assistant and head coach that includes two
national championships. We are very excited to have Steve Addazio leading
Boston College football and look forward to an extraordinary future."
