Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Landry Jones threw for two touchdowns and Blake
Bell added two scores on the ground as the 17th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners
steamrolled the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 41-20, to earn their first Big 12
victory of the season.
Jones completed 25-of-40 passes for 259 yards and connected with Justin Brown
and Kenny Stills for scores. Bell took two 1-yard carries into the end zone
for touchdowns as Oklahoma (3-1, 1-1 Big 12) rebounded nicely off its bye week
following a 24-19 loss to Kansas State on Sept. 22.
Seth Doege led Texas Tech to a victory over Oklahoma last season, but
struggled on Saturday and was unable to replicate the same result. Doege
finished 22-of-36 for 203 yards and was intercepted three times, with his
third returned by Javon Harris for a score that put the game out of reach for
the Red Raiders (4-1, 1-1), who were denied a 5-0 start for the second
consecutive season.
SaDale Foster and Kenny Williams each ran for a touchdown for Texas Tech.
Foster ran for 44 yards on 11 carries while Williams rushed seven times for 24
yards.
