Thibodaux, LA (Sports Network) - Former University of Minnesota linebacker
Dwayne Mitchell has signed a scholarship to play football at Nicholls State,
Colonels football coach Charlie Stubbs said Thursday.
Mitchell, from New Orleans, is eligible for the 2012 season and will have three
years of eligibility remaining.
As a redshirt freshman last season, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder spent most of his
time contributing to Minnesota's special teams.
Mitchell prepped at Edna Karr High School with current Nicholls cornerback
Brian Lewis. He set the school career record with 28 sacks.
