Peoria, IL (Sports Network) - Walt Lemon Jr. scored 21 points and did it all
for the Braves as Bradley took a, 75-69, win over the Green Bay Phoenix in
first round action of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at Renaissance
Coliseum.
Lemon Jr. also managed nine rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals
for the Braves (17-16). Will Egolf led the squad in scoring with 22 points
before fouling out while Dyricus Simms-Edwards scored 17 points and Jake
Eastman grabbed 13 rebounds.
Alec Brown led Green Bay (18-16) with 23 points and eight rebounds but had
five turnovers. Keifer Sykes added 18 points and five assists while Brennan
Cougill tallied 10 points. Jordan Fouse led the Phoenix on the boards with 11
rebounds while Sultan Muhammad swiped four steals.
After shooting just 30.3 percent from the field and 2-of-10 form long-range in
the first half, Bradley trailed 33-24 at the break.
The Braves got going in the second half and shot 51.9 percent from the floor.
However it was their execution at the free-throw line that gave them their
edge as they hit 21-of-24 attempts from the stripe.
Bradley earned 16 fast break points and scored 12 more points from the free-
throw line than Green Bay.
