Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Tiffany Clarke scored 30 points to lead
Vanderbilt over No. 10 Texas A&M, 61-51, as Melanie Balcomb picked up her
256th win as Commodores head coach.
Balcomb matched Jim Foster for most wins in program history as the Commodores
(18-9, 8-6 SEC) improved to 3-1 without second-leading scorer Christina
Foggie, who has been sidelined with a knee injury.
Elan Brown and Jasmine Lister chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, for
Vanderbilt, which held Texas A&M to 31 percent shooting.
The Aggies (21-7, 11-3), who came in leading the conference in field goal
percentage, may have been looking ahead to a matchup with Tennessee on
Thursday, but they now trail the SEC front-runners by two games after losing
two of their last three.
Kelsey Bone scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting, while Kristi
Bellock recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.
Vanderbilt led 25-20 at halftime and scored the first six points after the
break to pull ahead by double digits.
The Aggies were within three, 47-44, with under seven minutes remaining, but
Vanderbilt scored 12 of the next 15 points to pull away.
