Springfield, MO (Sports Network) - Seth Tuttle registered the seventh double-
double of his career with 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Northern Iowa
Panthers posted a 69-63 win against the Missouri State Bears in Missouri
Valley Conference action at JQH Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Panthers (17-11, 10-6 MVC) were Anthony
James and Matt Bohannon with 17 and 11 points, respectively, the former adding
eight assists as the team logged a sixth straight win.
The Bears (8-20, 6-10) were paced by Marcus Marshall who scored a game-high 25
points, hitting all nine of his free-throw attempts, followed by Christian
Kirk with 12 points and six rebounds as Missouri State bowed for the fourth
time in the last five outings.
The hosts opened the contest on a 15-5 run and appeared primed to run away
with the decision, but UNI ended up converting 52.2 percent from the floor in
the first half in order to post a 30-27 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Panthers dipped to just 40 percent accuracy from the
floor and converted only 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line. However, the visitors
made up for those shortcomings by connecting on all but two of 20 attempts at
the free-throw line in order to secure the six-point win.
Northern Iowa shot 19-of-23 at the charity stripe on the night and turned the
ball over just five times.
