Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Tony Watson tallied 24 points to lead the
Buffalo Bulls over the Toledo Rockets, 75-60, in a Mid-American Conference
matchup at Alumni Arena.
Watson was 7-of-11 from the field including 6-of-9 from 3-point range for
Buffalo (10-15, 5-6 MAC), which earned its second win in a row. Jarryn Skeete
added 17 points while Javon McCrea recorded a double-double with 16 rebounds
and 14 points to go with four blocks.
Toledo (11-11, 7-4) had three players in double-figures, all with 10
points, including Rian Pearson who grabbed a team-high seven rebounds but shot
just 3-of-12 from the field. Julius Brown and Matt Smith were the two others
with 10 points while Smith also had three blocks and six rebounds. The Rockets
saw a five-game win streak come to a close with the loss.
The Bulls led 35-25 at the break after McCrea had 10 points with 10 rebounds
in just the first half. Toledo shot just 27.8 percent from the field in the
first 20 minutes.
Watson exploded for 17 points, hitting five 3-pointers, in the second half as
Buffalo cruised to the 15-point victory.
The Bulls shot efficiently, hitting 51.9 percent of their shots from the field
and going 9-of-18 from beyond the arc, while Toledo shot at just 32.4 percent
from the floor.
