Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Flavien Davis scored a game-high 22 points and
pulled down six rebounds as he helped guide the Montana State Bobcats to a
70-64 win over the Portland State Vikings in Big Sky Conference action at the
Stott Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bobcats (10-10, 7-5 Big Sky) were
Antonio Biglow with 12 points, to go along with seven assists, followed by
Calen Coleman with 11 points off the bench as they won for the fourth time in
the last five outings.
The Vikings (5-14, 3-9) were paced by Renado Parker with 18 points, eight
rebounds and four steals, but still the team lost for the sixth time in as
many games. Aaron Moore and Lateef McMullan accounted for 11 points apiece,
the former also clearing seven rebounds and handing out five assists.
PSU led by three points early in the meeting, but after 20 minutes of play it
was Montana State that was up by three points, 33-30.
In the second half the Vikings converted a hefty 57.1 percent from the floor,
compared to 54.2 percent for the visitors, but MSU outscored the hosts 9-1 at
the charity stripe in the period in order to claim the six-point win.
In addition to being outscored at the free-throw line in the meeting, 13-4,
Portland State was also beaten on the glass, 37-27.
